OSAGE, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Two teenagers had to be rescued after falling through the ice while fishing on a northwest Minnesota lake.
It happened on Straight Lake in Osage, Minnesota, near Detroit Lakes.
According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, a 13 and 14-year-old was trying to slide in an otter sled across the ice when the sled broke through.
Authorities responded and found them floating in the sled.
The Department of Natural Resources launched a boat that broke through the ice and drove out to rescue the teens.
They were rescued and uninjured.
According to authorities, lakes everywhere are too thin.
