In the rain of late morning Tuesday, 75 years of not knowing has been washed away. The remains of Corporal Earl Emerson Kibbey are with family.
The cold wet of this November day became immaterial to the moment. Bringing his remains off the plane was delayed by lightning, but after waiting three quarters of a century, another hour or two was nothing. Advertisement
Kibbey was a 17-year-old country boy from Southwest Ohio when he enlisted in the Army with the easy smile of a teenager who enjoyed life's simple pleasures.
"He had pigeons," said his sole surviving sibling. At 91, Faye Delcamp never thought she'd see this day.
