It has been two months since a devastating fire ripped through a building in Brooklyn.

Dozens of businesses and organizations that operate in the building located at 481 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook are still displaced.

“It’s been devastating,” Carly Baker-Rice, executive director of the Red Hook Business Alliance, said.

Their whole operation has come to a halt. Some of them are still in the building right now retrieving things. It’s only opened up in sections, so people haven’t really been able to move on of rebuild.

Baker-Rice said some businesses and tenants have only just started to inspect the damage inside the building this week.
