Giants pitching prospect in hospital after car crash in Dominican Republic

Antonio Jiménez, a 24-year-old relief pitcher in the San Fransico Giants organization, was involved in a car crash in the Dominican Republic on Monday, team officials confirmed to the Daily Mail .

According to the Daily Mail, Jiménez was one of four people involved in the crash in which an SUV collided with two scooters. Three men, identified as Alfredo Garcia, Israel Carpio, and Victor de Jesus, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report from Diario Libre , a newspaper in the Dominican Republic.

Jiménez reportedly suffered fractures in the femur and spine and was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in "intensive care".
