WACO, Texas — Young people and their families gathered on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the South Terrace Youth Center in Waco for an event focused on gang awareness, prevention and building healthier relationships within the community.

The Klaras Center for Families hosted the program, which included educational resources, support services and personal stories aimed at helping families understand the pressures many kids face.

“One of the things I would love for every child to take away is that they’re not alone,” organizer Cory Cleveland said.

The event, titled “Gang Awareness, Prevention and Safety,” aimed to give families practical tools to recognize gang-related risks and help youth make safer choices.
