Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath has been dumped from airways just days out from the Ashes series.
McGrath will lose his ABC commentary gig due to the national broadcaster’s policy of employees forbidden from having an association with a betting agency.
The Test legend won’t be holding the mic due to having ties with bet365, as he is a regular contributor on their website.
The betting company also has a continual link to the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Test in Sydney.
The 55-year-old has become a regular addition to the ABC’s coverage in recent years, entertaining fans with his analysis stemming from his glittering test career.
McGrath’s team reportedly informed ABC officials of his commercial ties a month out from the first Test.
He will now be replaced by Tom Moody – who will
