FAYETTEVILLE -- The City Council took no action on the rezoning of the proposed site for a new Ramay Junior High School following more than three hours of discussion.
Council members likely will revisit the topic at their next meeting in two weeks.
Fayetteville School District officials requested the future Ramay site be rezoned from residential single-family up to four units per acre and urban corridor to P-1, institutional. The property totals about 26.7 acres.
The proposal cleared its first hurdle when the Planning Commission approved the rezoning in a 7-1 vote at its Oct. 27 meeting.
The School Board in May 2024 approved the $2.8 million purchase of 16.7 acres at 2200 N. Marks Mill Lane, located on the east side of College Avenue and across from Poplar Street, to serve as the site
