In a historic moment for Northeastern sports, Nagaland is set to host the first-ever Dr Talimeren Ao Junior National Girls Championship, beginning on 22 November in Chümoukedima. This is the first time the state will host this national-level tournament named in honour of Dr Talimeren Ao, the legendary footballer and first Olympic football captain of independent India.

A total of 13 teams have registered, though a few states withdrew due to travel issues. The teams are divided into four groups, with league matches leading into the semifinals. The grand finale will take place on 11 December at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium.

The tournament will kick off on 22 November at 9 a.m. with Andaman & Nicob
