A teenager is due in court charged with causing serious injury after a crash. Lilly Bevan is accused of careless or inconsiderate driving when the collision occurred on Monday, March 3, on Redcar High Street.
A 64-year-old cyclist suffered a fractured neck in the collision which occurred near the Crown and Anchor pub. He attended James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.
Bevan, 19, of Laurel Road in Redcar, is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning. The charge states on March 3 at Redcar and Cleveland she allegedly caused serious injury to a man by driving a Volkswagen on the high street "without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road."
