COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is dead after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street in north Columbus Tuesday evening, police said.
Around 6:30 p.m., a woman was crossing Cleveland Avenue at Oakland Park Avenue when they were struck by a red pick-up truck. Police said the victim was not walking in a marked crosswalk.
The woman was dragged approximately 290 feet before the pickup truck left the scene heading north on Cleveland Avenue, according to police.
The woman was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m.
