POWELL, Ohio — As the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium prepares to kick off the 2025 Wildlights season, leaders are reassuring guests that they are doing what they can to keep traffic to a minimum.
"We've strengthened our teams and have more staffing that will be available, but the roads outside are only so big," said Columbus Zoo Security Manager Rich Remias.
Remias manages a parking team of 15 people, with roughly 12 staffed every night. They work with other neighboring departments to manage safety and traffic flow, with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office as the lead agency.
Both safety teams are asking visitors to prepare to wait and follow the posted signs.
"Honking your horn [and] trying to go around the line is not going to get you out any faster," said Lt. Mike Scalley.
