TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A rescue owner accused of animal cruelty is set to stand trial in Tallahassee on Wednesday.
Judy Du Bois was arrested in May 2024 and charged with animal cruelty and confining animals without sufficient food and water. She faces 10 misdemeanor charges.
The trial comes nearly 18 months after Leon County Animal Control seized 90 dogs from Du Bois’ property on Sparrow Road.
Du Bois’ arrest report states the animals were living in filthy, unsanitary, and inhumane conditions . Video provided by Leon County shows dozens of dogs squeezed into muddy outdoor cages.
Du Bois previously denied the allegations against her.
Her previous attorney, Cynthia Myers, sent WCTV a statement soon after Du Bois’ arrest.
