King County Executive-elect Girmay Zahilay is moving quickly to reorganize an executive’s office that has been under essentially the same administration for 16 years, notifying appointed staff members that their positions may not exist in his new administration.
Zahilay’s transition team sent emails Friday to more than 100 staff in the executive department, saying they would be contacted Monday to gauge their interest in serving in the new administration. If they did not hear by Monday, they were told, they could fill out a form on Zahilay’s transition website to apply for a different position.
