Take some pride, Seattleites — the Emerald City has been ranked one of the Top 50 best places to visit worldwide in 2026 by a major travel magazine.

Travel + Leisure identified Seattle as one of seven sites for travelers seeking “big city thrills.”

Some of the city’s newest features made Seattle a draw, all while the city gears up to host six soccer games for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Travel + Leisure chiefly pointed to the $806 million Waterfront Park that fully opened to the public over the summer. Overlook Walk, which the city proclaimed as its “new iconic landmark,” connects the waterfront to one of Seattle’s more traditional landmarks, Pike Place Market, and central downtown, all with a stunning view of Elliott Bay.
