A 17-year-old wanted for murder has turned himself in to police probing the brazen downtown shooting of innocent bystander Belinda Sarkodie .
More than four months have passed since the 26-year-old woman was shot while waiting for a bus in front of Jackson Square around 5:30 p.m. on July 11.
In the wake of the shooting — which also injured a man in his 20s, who police said was among a group targeted — police identified a 17-year-old male suspect.
He faces charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, but cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Hamilton police initially applied for an exemption under the act to be able to name the accused, but that has since expired.
