CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - An integrated logistics company is launching a $16 million expansion of its Charlotte headquarters, a project expected to create 520 jobs.

Maersk announced the expansion on Tuesday, Nov. 18, noting it plans to grow its local workforce to 1,300 employees.

“Charlotte has been an important part of our story here at Maersk for over two decades, and we’re proud to now make it our official North America headquarters location,” said Charles van der Steene, President of Maersk’s North America Region.

The company plans to hire for roles in logistics and supply, finance, legal, customer experience, human resources, business support, and operations. Several positions will not require a college degree, and the average salary is $100,962.
