CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Dozens of people protested Border Patrol’s Charlotte operation on Wednesday morning outside a local Home Depot.
The demonstration took place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the store located along North Wendover Road near East Independence Freeway.
“We are here to support the immigrant community,” said former Charlotte mayor Jennifer Roberts. “We know they’re an integral part of our economy, education, culture, and growth.”
Roberts said protesters chose The Home Depot because many yard and construction workers shop there for materials.
“It’s a place where ICE agents gather,” Roberts added. “We don’t want them [Border Patrol] in Charlotte.”
