FAYETTE, Iowa (KWWL) -- Despite being left out of the NCAA Division II playoffs, the football season isn't over yet for Upper Iowa.
On Tuesday, the Peacocks accepted an invitation to play in the sixth annual Albanese Candy Bowl. The game will be played Dec. 6 in Hobart, Indiana. It will mark the first Division II bowl appearance for Upper Iowa in program history.
Formerly called the America's Crossroads Bowl, the newly-christened Albanese Candy Bowl is one of three NCAA Division II bowl games sponsored nationally in 2025.
The Peacocks (8-3 overall) finished third in the Great Lakes Valley Athletic Conference (GLVAC) with a 6-2 mark. The eight victories tied for the most in program history with the 1964 and 1966 teams.
