OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Robert Leroy Connor II was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday morning after he was previously found guilty on all charges in an armed robbery and home invasion case.
During his jury trial in September, Connor, 57, was convicted of robbery with a weapon, two counts of false imprisonment while armed and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
According to the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on June 12, 2023, at a residence in the Villages in Ocala.
Officials say Connor rang the two victims’ doorbell around 10 a.m. asking to have a water bottle refilled when they invited him into their home. He then asked to make a phone call, but did not use the phone.
