Ulster County and Ukraine’s Chernivtsi Region held their first joint agriculture forum as part of a new ‘sister community’ partnership established in April 2025. Farmers, government officials, and cultural leaders from both regions gathered virtually to discuss agriculture’s role in local economies, along with shared challenges and opportunities in farming, agritourism, and sustainability.

Ulster County executive Jen Metzger and legislature chair Peter Criswell led the forum, which included presentations from county officials and local farmers.
