LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - In Kentucky, there have been some absurdly cold winter days and also some pretty snowy ones. Here’s a look at the coldest temperatures by month.
Record cold temperatures span five months
We have actually dipped below zero in five different months. In November 1929 and 1950, we saw a low of -3 degrees. January, February, and March have all seen temperatures fall to around 20 below zero! The coldest temperature ever recorded in Lexington happened in January 1963 where the temperature dipped to -21 degrees. Below zero temperatures have even happened in March as recent as 2015.
