After three rounds of voting and over 240,000 votes, Alberta’s new licence plate will be the Moraine Lake plate, with a photo taken in Banff National Park.
The plate will feature the “Strong and Free” motto, taken from Canada’s national anthem.
The plate will become the new standard starting in mid-2026. Once available, Albertans can replace their current plate with a new one for a $28.
Alberta’s current design has been around for over 40 years, being designed in 1984.
