KILLEEN, Texas — Texas Association of Secondary School Principals has named Rancier Middle School Principal Dr. Jannelle Muhammad the 2026 Texas Middle School Principal of the Year, Killeen ISD announced Wednesday.

The award honors Muhammad’s hands-on leadership and commitment to the district. She was unanimously selected by the TASSP Principal Image Committee, which recognized her management style, decision-making, and impact on student achievement and school culture.

Muhammad was previously recognized as the Region 12 Outstanding Principal of the Year in August.
