AUSTIN, Texas — A Hays County man has been sentenced to 218 years in prison after being convicted of multiple crimes related to child sexual abuse.

According to the Hays County District Attorney's Office, 44-year-old Richard Santa Ana was sentenced on Nov. 7 after being found guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

During the trial, it was discovered that Santa Ana had repeatedly drugged and sexually assaulted a friend's teenage daughter. During the punishment phase of the trial, evidence included testimony from a prior victim that Santa Ana had sexually assaulted in 2007.
