HENRY CO., Iowa (KWQC) - The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about a text scam.

Officials said the sheriff’s office learned a local resident got a scam text message on Tuesday, according to a media release.

The text asked for money to help Deputy Carlos Lopez with legal fees, deputies said.

Officials said the sheriff’s office or Deputy Lopez haven’t sent this type of message.

The office is asking anyone whose received this type of message to report it to them for proper documentation.
