MICHIGAN, USA — The owners of a Michigan-based plumbing company are facing federal charges after they allegedly employed over 200 undocumented workers between approximately Jan. 1, 2022 and Aug. 7, 2025.
Moises Orduna-Rios, president of Orduna Plumbing and Raquel Orduna-Rios, treasurer and secretary of Orduna Plumbing, are facing the charges after a probable cause document alleges that out of 253 employees, only six were confirmed through immigration records checks to be legally present and permitted to work in the United States.
The pair is accused of taking the workers' passports and housing them in overcrowded houses and hotel rooms. The company operates in Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and other states.
