PHILADELPHIA — Third quarters have been an albatross for the 76ers’ this season.
Entering Wednesday’s visit from the Toronto Raptors, the 76ers have the second-worst offensive rating and second-worst defensive rating in the league in third quarters.
Part of the recent remedies for coach Nick Nurse is opening the second half with a different five than the starters.
Against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, that meant Quentin Grimes starting the second half instead of Dominick Barlow. He made a similar change Friday in Detroit, also having to swap out the injured Kelly Oubre.
Nurse isn’t committing to any set rotation, a necessity given the pieces still missing. Flexibility is the key at the moment.
