A stabbing at an apartment complex in Asheville, North Carolina, has left one person critically injured.
Officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to Ascent Apartment Homes on Ascension Drive around 3:12 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body and head. Before he was transported to Mission Hospital, he told police that the attacker was still inside one of the apartments.
Officers entered the apartment, found the suspect, and took him into custody without incident.
According to police, the stabbing stemmed from an argument over the ownership of a cat.
Authorities said that the victim is in a serious, life-threatening condition.
