ASHEVILLE, N.C. —

As immigration enforcement expands across North Carolina, community groups in Asheville are expressing concern over potential operations in their area.

Community members in Asheville said people are scared and nervous as enforcement continues across the state. Similar feelings are being felt in other parts of the region.

"People are really scared. It's fearful. We've confirmed ICE activity in Blowing Rock and Lenoir [Wednesday], and so we're nervous about what's going on," said Greg Walker Wilson, who represents grassroots organizations.

Walker Wilson said these cities are about an hour away from Asheville.
