Millions of people travel by train every day in the country, so any railway-related changes directly impact passengers. With winter setting in and dense fog affecting visibility, the railway administration has suspended bookings for 16 express trains for three months, from December to February. Passengers have been advised to check their train status online or through the helpline before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience due to cancelled or diverted trains.

A Southern Railway spokesperson stated that a total of 16 trains will remain cancelled from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 due to security reasons, NBT reported.
