The Tartan Army made the earth move in Glasgow as they willed Steve Clarke’s heroes on to World Cup glory during the victory against Denmark. Data shows extra seismic activity in the Mount Florida area at key moments during Tuesday’s Hampden Park dramatic showdown. Tremors are picked up by 24-hour monitors at the UK Geoenergy Observatory in Rutherglen, two miles away from the national stadium. And they recorded spikes at times when the famous Hampden roar engulfed the 52,000-capacity ground. There is plenty of seismic ’noise’ during the working day but peaks are easier to spot during the evening as business hours end and traffic levels ease off.
