VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — In Virginia Beach, drivers on Shore Drive have been dealing with construction crews and a lot of traffic as the city moves forward with Phase 3 of its Shore Drive improvement project.
One property owner shared with 13News Now that this project could bring safer sidewalks and mitigate flooding.
He said they've been asking for it for nearly two decades, and he believes Virginia Beach leadership has dragged their feet getting it started.
Back in May, crews began work at Vista Circle, east of the Lesner Bridge. That work extends roughly one and a half miles to Beech Street.
