Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police have launched a detailed investigation into allegations that a 16-year-old boy was forced to join the Islamic State (IS).
Investigators are also examining whether a Kanyakulangara native, who was questioned earlier in the 2019 Kanakamala IS recruitment case, has any connection to the incident.
He is the brother of the accused woman’s friend. Police sources indicated that the state police chief may recommend handing over the UAPA-charged case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
According to the police, the accused woman, a native of Nedumangad, had converted to another religion before marrying a man from Pandalam. She later moved to England with her husband after securing a job as a nurse. There, she became acquainted with a man from Vembayam,
