OMAHA, Neb. —
Schools in Nebraska are required to conduct health screenings for K-12 students to make sure they're healthy and ready to learn.
Now, Creighton University is hoping to revolutionize the way these screenings are conducted.
This year, the nursing department collaborated with Creighton's computer science department to debut a new school health report card.
"The user types in the data and automatically generates a report. Now, this report is printed and it is given to the parents of the students," said Steven Fernandes, assistant professor of computer science.
"It will tell the parents, kind of where their child's standing. Even if they're healthy, it will still go home with them," said nursing student Madison Kilton.
