While hosting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House this week, President Donald Trump made some truly ghastly remarks when a question was raised about the murder of an American journalist.
The Washington Post's Jamal Khashoggi, a critic of the Saudi kingdom, was assassinated in 2018 at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. U.S. intelligence officials didn't say Prince Mohammed directly ordered Khashoggi's death, but did state the crown prince almost certainly knew of and approved of the plot.
