When the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Luka Doncic last season , it felt like a move a team would make to prepare for a future without LeBron James.

Both players have thrived throughout their careers as ball-dominant point-forwards with notoriously high usage rates. The Lakers' acquisition of Doncic is obviously a phenomenal move, especially given how little they had to give up to get him ; however, the fit next to LeBron felt questionable at best.

Now that LeBron has missed some time due to injury, Austin Reeves has stepped up and taken over as the Lakers' secondary offensive general. With LeBron now back in JJ Reddick’s lineup, it was interesting to see how much different he looked out on the court than in years past.
