A media mogul suffered a horrifying death after being buried alive in a 6ft box in a kidnapping gone very wrong.

Stephen Small was a renowned businessman in his own right but had been used to the finer things in life. He was the grandson of Len Small, who served as the governor of Illinois between 1921 and 1929. Small time drug dealer Danny Edwards made the catastrophic decision to kidnap the media mogul and hold him captive while he demanded a $1million ransom.

The original plan had been to take Stephen to rural Chicago and hold him until his loved ones paid the ransom demands - however this plan went fatally wrong.
