The beleaguered former mayor of Woodstock will face sentencing, not a third mistrial application, early next year for two sexual assault convictions.
Trevor Birtch, 50, was convicted by Superior Court Justice Spencer Nicholson last January of sexual assaulting a vulnerable 40-year-old woman with mental health and addiction issues and whose identity is protected by court order, after a trial during which she testified to being forced into unwanted sexual activity while high and drunk.
