EAGAN, Minn. — Nothing has come easy for the Minnesota Vikings this season.
The one-score contests - which have been tipped drastically in the Vikings' favor the past few seasons - are suddenly ending in defeat. While Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell still carries the second-highest win percentage (.743) in NFL history in one-score games, he's just 3-4 this year, including Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Chicago Bears.
"We're going to stay the course and continue to improve and attack this thing knowing that we don't have a lot of time left," O'Connell said. "But we do have what it takes to win football games in our locker room and on our team."
The Vikings already have twice as many regular-season losses this year as they did a season ago, and twice as many turnovers (18) than takeaways (9). T
