Mangaluru, Nov 19: Poetica Kavigoshti 44 and the distribution of free shoes, socks and toys for schoolchildren was held on Wednesday at Rosa Mystica Higher Primary School, under the initiative of the Poetica poets.

This was the first programme of its kind in the school. The event began with a prayer song and a welcome dance by the students. Teacher Poornima welcomed the gathering.

The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the lamp under the presidentship of Dr Sr Lilly Pereira, provincial superior of the Bethany Congregation, Mangaluru Province. The chief guest was Sr Leena Pereira, head of the local Rosa Mystica community. Poetica president and programme convenor Naveen Pereira Suratkal was felicitated on the occasion.
