Firefighters have revealed the suspected reason a car went up in flames during the early morning commute on a busy Coventry road. Emergency services were called to Allard Way before 7.30am on Wednesday morning.

A crew from the nearest fire station rushed to the site to find the car ablaze. The fire was put out and thankfully there were no injuries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire And Rescue Service told Coventry Live: "Just after 7.20am on Wednesday 19 November, we responded to reports of a car fire on Allard Way, Coventry.

"One fire engine from Binley fire station attended, to find a car completely engulfed in fire. One firefighter extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.

"The fire is thought to have started due to a fault within the vehicle. Fortunately no one was hurt."
