A Minneapolis man is facing a slew of burglary charges that allege he may have targeted members of the Hispanic community.
Jonte Jamel Yates, 36, is accused of carrying out multiple burglaries at several different apartment buildings in New Hope between Nov. 1 and 12, with jewelry, cash, and clothing stolen.
Several of the crimes were reported at Spanish-speaking households.
After examining surveillance footage from one of the burglaries, members of the Hennepin County Intelligence Unit were able to identify the person in the video as Yates.
Criminal charges detail Yates was recently released from prison on a case where 20 Brooklyn Park apartments were burglarized, targeting Hispanic residents.
