PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia is expected to hear about the status of its Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program (BEAD) program in the "upcoming days," Gov. Patrick Morrisey said Thursday.
Speaking at an event in Parkersburg, Morrisey expressed hope the application will be approved, allowing the state to begin deploying federal funds under the long-delayed federal broadband expansion program.
"I'm very hopeful that very soon we're going to be hearing from the administration on our BEAD application," Morrisey said. "When I have more information, I'm going to let you know, but this could be good news for the state. We're going to wait, and I'm hopeful that in the upcoming days I'm going to hear some feedback."
