Niles Special Response Team issued search warrants at a home in the 500 block of Peffer Avenue in the city.

Uncover officers from the Niles Detective Bureau and Street Crimes Unit had made controlled purchases of narcotics previously at the location.

Officers found 27 grams of crack cocaine and 11 grams of heroin/fentanyl in the house on Thursday, in addition to the drugs previously purchased by officers. An arrest was made, and 51-year-old Michael Crain was taken into custody.

According to Niles Detective Captain John Marshall, this was the second time in three months that the home had been raided.
