Former Town of Ulster Supervisor Nick Woerner recently announced he’d like to tackle the role again in the future. And with supervisor James E. Quigley, 3rd announcing he was stepping down just two days after winning reelection unopposed, that future may be sooner than you think.

At least publicly, everything changed over a two-day period earlier this month. One day before Quigley’s planned departure was confirmed at the November 6 workshop meeting of the town board, Woerner teased the announcement on Facebook. During the public recognition portion of that meeting, Woerner made it official.

In an interview with Hudson Valley One last week, Woerner elaborated on the journey he hopes leads him back to the office he left a decade-and-a-half ago, when Quigley took the reins. Woerner, now 4
