LOUISVILLE, Ky. — GE Appliances announced Thursday it will award more than $150 million in new contracts to U.S.-based suppliers across 10 states, including Kentucky.
These investments in local suppliers aims to support the company’s new washer and combo washer/dryer plant being built at its Louisville, Kentucky headquarters and largest manufacturing location.
GE Appliances says these new supplier contracts are incremental to the $490 million investment to expand laundry production in Louisville that GE Appliances announced earlier this year.
The contracts are the first of many economic ripple effects from GE Appliances’ broader, five-year, $3 billion commitment to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing footprint, reshore certain production, and create more than 1,000 high-quality jobs acr
