In an illustration of the program's rise in stature, Iowa women's basketball made a serious push for five-star forward Addison Bjorn.

The 6-foot-2 small forward out of Park Hill South in Riverside, Mo., included the Hawkeyes among her final seven schools after making her way to Iowa City for a Sept. 26-28 official visit where she took in Iowa's football game against Indiana.

But after a lengthy recruiting process that stretched past the final day of the early signing period, Bjorn revealed that she will play college basketball at Texas .

Texas wins out over Iowa and fellow finalists Kansas, UConn, Notre Dame , North Carolina , and Duke .
