BELAGAVI
In what could be termed as a big relief for commuters from Karnataka and Goa, the Belagavi Public Works Department (PWD) has taken up the recarpeting of the dilapidated Belagavi-Goa road via Chorla.
The recarpeting will be taken up in a matter of couple of days, giving much-needed comfort to commuters, especially during the peak season time and when the Winter Session of the Karnataka State Legislature is on the anvil.
To begin with, the contractor has commenced work on an alternative route near the Kusmalli Bridge over the Malaprabha River to facilitate the completion of the long-pending bridge structure.
