Early voting is underway for the Dec. 9 special election to fill the Georgia House District 121 seat recently vacated by Representative Marcus Wiedower.

Republican Mark “Dutch” Guest IV will run against Democrat Eric Gisler in the election, which impacts over 15,000 voters across 10 precincts in southeastern Clarke County and most of Oconee County.

Elections for neighboring House District 120, which will take place in 2026, have broadcaster Kris Kendrick and UGA microbiology professor Chad Paton running on the Republican side. Democrat and Jackson County resident Suzanne Karatassos also recently announced her candidacy.
