PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A Coast Guard crew is back home following a more than two-month deployment.

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tampa (WMEC 902) returned to Portsmouth on Friday morning, following a 67-day patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

The crew of the Tampa took part in the counter-drug mission "Operation Pacific Viper."

A Coast Guard press release said the "Tampa’s crew successfully contributed to protecting Americans by countering transnational criminal organizations and preventing dangerous and illegal narcotics from reaching the United States."
